Trigg Island Youth's focus for 2026–27 is a "feet on the sand" approach — blending fun, fitness and lifesaving into every session, with activities for U14/U15s and U17s run separately and as one combined group.
This season's goals
- Build cohesiveness, camaraderie and connection — to the Club and to each other
- Improve retention and grow our numbers
- Build a culture that makes progressing from Nippers into Youth an easy, exciting step
- Make space for every interest across the Club, including Surf Sports
What you can expect on a Sunday
Sessions mix fun group activities with lifesaving skill-building — sometimes blended together, like practising board rescues and first aid alongside SRC and Bronze Medallion training. Expect a rotating mix through the season, such as:
- Beach games — giant dodgeball, tag games, a minefield blindfold challenge, frisbee competitions
- Water-based fun — board rescues, a try-a-ski day, bring-a-floatie day, pontoon relay, wet towel bucket relay
- Skills and awareness — mock first aid events, surf awareness signals and signs, IRB day
- Guest incursions — paramedics, lifeguards and Club leaders sharing what they do
- Bigger group days — body surfing competitions, team sandcastle competitions, bring-a-friend day
Keeping communication clear
The Club is streamlining Youth communications this season — including a separate channel for members focused on Surf Sports — so it's easier to see what's relevant to you.
