Record Breaking Results At This Years Pool Rescue Championships

From the 4th to the 6th of August athletes from around Australia flocked to the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre for the 2023 Pool Rescue Championships. 5 members from Trigg Island SLSC went across to compete, representing our club, with 4 of those also representing WA’s Western Suns in the Interstate competition. Jake Smith, Harrison Hynes, Kelton Rothnie, and Eleanor Flowers all represented WA and our club, as well as late addition Jeremy Rethamel, whom competed with the guys in the club relay events.

It was a successful weekend for our small but mighty team, with Harrison, Jake, Kelton, and Jeremy dominating the relay events, whilst also giving strong performances in their individual events. Both Jake and Harrison broke Australian Records, with Harrison breaking 2 records, adding to the success of the weekend. Eleanor Flowers was a standout within the U15 woman’s events, coming away with a haul of 5 medals.
