Over the weekend, Surf Lifesaving WA held their inaugural Young Leader Camp, at the South West Development facility.
In attendance were 19 young members from varying clubs around the state, 2 of whom were from Trigg Island SLSC – Sarah Moar, and Julia Suffell.

Participants were guided through experiences that encouraged self-discovery, such as governance workshops, Q&A sessions, and coasteering.

Participant Julia mentioned how the coasteering, which involved jumping off rocks at Indijup “were vital for Abalone patrols”.
Overall the camp was noted as “fantastic, and a place where many friendships were made”

We look forward to future opportunities for our youth members where we can hear the positive impacts it has on their self development, and their confidence in community participation.

Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club acknowledges the traditional owners, the Whadjuk People of the Noongar Nation, of the beach on which we work and play. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and are grateful for their continuing connection to the land, sea and sky.
