On Saturday the 22nd of February, thousands of swimmers took the plunge and swam the 19.2km straight between Cottesloe Beach & Rottnest Island, in the 2025 Rottnest Channel Swim. Participants could either swim the event as a solo entrant, a duo, or within a team.
Trigg Island SLSC had 12 members swim the 2025 Channel Swim, including the Director of Youth – Michael Boisvert, who was the only member to take the challenge on as a solo entrant. Mike finished the swim in a time of 6 hours and 33 minutes, finishing 79th within his category. Club member, and 2 x Surf Lifesaving Australia Athlete of the Year, Jake Smith, swam the race as a member of a team ‘The pool Buoys’, who finished 2nd overall, with a time of 3 hours and 51 mins.

We’d like to congratulate all members who swam this years Rottnest Channel Swim, as it is no easy feat to take on the 19.2km challenge.
