A WELCOME TO ALL JUNIOR MEMBERS to the 2008/2009 Season

Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club would like to wish you all a warm welcome to the club and the 2008/2009 season. Activities are scheduled to commence at 9am on Sunday 12th October 2008 and finish at 11am.

Then each Sunday after that at 9am - 11am except for a two week break over Christmas and New Year. There are no junior activities on Sunday 21st December 2008 and Sunday 28th December 2008. Normal activities resume on Sunday 4th January 2009. If your child is unable to attend Sunday activities, please notify your Age Group Manager.

To assist your Age Group Manager commence activities on time, I would ask that everybody be on the beach by 8.50am so we can start promptly at 9.00am.

Children, you should have already applied sunscreen, be wearing your bathers, a long sleeve shirt, you coloured cap (this is compulsory or you will not be allowed to participate in water activities) and a hat. Make sure you also bring a filled water bottle with you. If you require medication in case of an emergency you must bring it with you and advise you Age Group Manager where it is located and who can administer it.

You will already have a coloured cap which identifies all the children in your particular age group. On the first Sunday of activities, 12th October 2008 please meet on the grassed area behind the tower. You will be given instructions from there. Then every other Sunday please meet your Age Group Manager on the beach near the junior equipment trailer. Please meet near the flag that is the same colour as your cap. If you happen to lose your cap you can purchase another one from the club shop.

After Sunday morning activities, families are encouraged to join in the social atmosphere of the sausage sizzle which is held in the "Boat Shed". Sausages, hot chips, salad rolls and drinks are available at very reasonable prices. There are many social events scheduled that you may like to participate in - please see the Club Social calendar (on the website) and Club notice boards. You can even sign up for the weekly emailed newsletter by subscribing on the home page of the club website. Skills training sessions, other that Sunday morning activities, will be available for children within competitive age groups that wish to develop additional skills - please direct any enquiries to you Age Group Manager of the Competition Manager - John Motteram.

Parental involvement is critical for the continued successful operation of the club - please support the Age Group Managers and the Club in any way you can - your assistance with Sunday morning activities is especially appreciated. We are actively seeking sponsorship - if you can think you can be of assistance in any way or know of anyone who can, please advise Bronwyn Meldrum (Director of Junior Activities) and she will arrange for someone to contact you to discuss possibilities.

Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club is a totally volunteer organisation; our continued success relies on the generosity and support of all members.
