Formal lifesaving training starts at 13 years of age with the Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) and once completed our new lifesavers are allocated to one of the Trigg Island Beach Patrols and guided in further “on the beach” training by our more experienced lifesavers. At the age of 15 our Youth can complete their Bronze Medallion and once completed there is a large range of opportunities and training to further advance your lifesaving skills. Many of our Youth discover the skills learned in Bronze and lifesaving training are well sort after in the work place and are a distinct advantage in getting the best summer vacation jobs. For additional information regarding the opportunities and advantages of obtaining life saving skills see education.

Youth Management Structure
The Trigg Island Youth division is guided by the Youth Committee with input from the Trigg’s Board of Management plus the Lifesaving, Education and Surf Sports divisions. All our managers are parents of Youth members and have the roll of guiding our young members through the various pathways to become successful surf lifesavers and surf sports competitors.
2010 /2011 Youth Committee
Several Youth orientated events run throughout the season which relies heavily on help from parents of the Youth members. We encourage our Youth parents to become involved through both direct management on the beach or just to support the various competition, lifesaving and social events through out the season.
