An opportunity is available at Surf Life Saving Western Australia (SLSWA) to join the team as an Accountant.  This will the first time that SLSWA has appointed an in house Accountant.  We will be seeking an individual that can develop the role and be proactive in the continuous improvement of the accounting, reporting and internal control systems of SLSWA.   The Accountant will work within the Business Service Department.  It is envisaged that the role will be offered as a 0.8 - 1.

Surf Life Saving Western Australia is the leading provider of Coastal Safety services in Western Australia and operates Westpac Lifesaver Helicopters in both the Perth and South West regions.

These services are currently fulfilled utilising Agusta A119 and Eurocopter AS350 helicopters.

Surf Life Saving WA is seeking to increase its pool of available casual First Aid Facilitators in the Perth metro area.

 
Successful applicants will be responsible for delivery of Nationally Accredited First Aid training courses to both Public and Private clients. SLSWA offers courses to clients on weekdays, evenings and on weekends, and is looking for facilitators who will be available to deliver training at these times.

North Cottesloe sprint star has once again been named in the Australian Surf Life Saving Team, ahead of the 2012 Life Saving World Championships.

Rescue 2012 will be held in Adelaide, South Australia, from November 7-18, 2012 and will include five separate competitions - World National Team Championships, World Interclub Championships, World Masters Championships, World Surf Boat Championships, and World Inflatable Rescue Boat Championships.

Nolan will be racing at his third World Championships and hoping to once again medal at the prestigious event.

Surf Life Saving WA will be filming two TV commercials in early November and are looking for some local surf lifesavers to star in the ads. The commercials will form part of a major media campaign for Surf Life Saving WA over the summer months.

The surf lifesavers featured in the ad will be required to speak to camera and also perform some typical patrol duties i.e. a mock rescue, First Aid treatment etc.

Few people have done more for Surf Life Saving WA than Mike Smith and his commitment to the organisation has earned him a Medal of the Order of Australia.

Mr Smith's six-year stint as SLSWA president from 2002 to 2008 made him the longest serving head of the organisation since the 1950s.

He has also served seven years as director of Surf Life Saving Australia and as president of Bunbury SLSC.
