This season we are planning on running a mentoring program with our U14 and U15 club members and we are looking for volunteers who are between 17 and 21 and keen to help out. This is a way of retaining club members in the transition to seniors and helps to ease our youth into senior club life. The program will involve a training session for mentors and then around six meetings between mentors and their mentees, along with weekly contact via email or Facebook. The U14 and U15 club members will be divided among mentors and it will be the mentors responsibility to contact them and answer any questions they may have to the best of their ability. It would be ideal to have 2 mentors to a group of 6-8 mentees, but to do this we would need at least 20 people to volunteer to be mentors. Being a mentor would not require too much time, but it would require commitment for the entire season. Mentors would gain leadership, organisation and communication skills as well as being a valuable member to the club.
