1984boatcrewOur members provide Voluntary lifesaving patrols for the public at Trigg Beach, and have been competently trained to support this community service.  We participate in a number of Competitive and Social activities to enhance and develop this role in the community.

Anyone can apply to become a member of the Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club and we welcome you to our community.  The motto of our club is “Saving Lives, Developing Lives" and is a true reflection of our values. Becoming a member of our club can assist you in learning the value of contributing to the community in a real and practical way while also providing you with sound life skills for the future.

The first step to becoming a member is to complete a Membership Application form or attend the Club Office during office hours 9am to 2pm Monday through to Friday.

All new members over the age of 15 are considered Probationary until their Bronze Medallion has been achieved, with the membership fee being payable upon submitting your application form.  Bronze Medallion courses are run regularly throughout the season and you can submit your request to join a course by completing an award application form (click here) and submitting it along with your application form.

Some membership categories require the applicant to perform a test swim, to ascertain their swimming abilities.

  • Senior Active membership – 400m in less than 8 minutes.  This swim must be completed prior to being allocated to any Bronze Medallion course.

  • Junior/Cadet Active membership – Swim tests range from 25m for under 8’s through to 200m for under 14’s.  This test must be completed prior to any involvement in water based activities.  Full details of these swim tests can be found under the Junior tab of the website.

Refer to the table in Membership Fees which summarises available membership categories at the Trigg Island SLSC along with the rules applicable to achieving each category.  Any new member up to and including the age of 30 years is required to become an Active Senior patrolling member. Full details of your patrolling commitment requirements can be found under the Lifesaving tab of this website.   Annual fees vary depending on the category of membership you have been granted, and are renewable as of the 30th September each year.
